Interesting word roots; esp. For doctors

In Latin, 'venter' means belly. So, ventral side of a musk deer is the side its belly is, the side its musk is removed from. Ventricle of your heart is the 'belly' of your heart, one that receives the blood and is belly like in its functionality to 'hold' blood(not that blood ever is still in a living being!). Ventricular is a belly like bulge in an object.
Your heart has an auricle above the ventricle, which looks like an ear. 'Auris' is Latin for ear.
'Avunculus' is mother's brother in Latin . From that comes the word uncle in english. And avuncular is anyone who is caring like an uncle.
Ventral is the belly side and dorsal the backside. 'Dorsum' means back in Latin.
